City council unanimously passes a curfew ordinance making it illegal for anyone under 16 to be on streets after 9 pm. Mayor Shubart signs. Fire Chief Mossman to ring curfew bell at 8 30 nightly. Violators face fines from 1 to 10 dollars per offense.
Representatives from the C. S. Cummins Coal and Mining Co. of Cleveland Ohio visited to discuss its Pike county coal land holdings north of Spurgeon and plan a strip mine by early June. They dispute Vulcan Coal Co.’s claimed railroad takeover and note six miles of preexisting railway grade with three miles of track laid since October and local extensions to reach the coal lands.
President Harding and his cabinet held a wide ranging session on foreign relations led by Secretary Hughes. The upcoming visit of Rebe Viviana and the red debt situation were among topics of discussion.
In Warsaw Indiana Virgil Decker, who confessed to killing Leroy Lovett, fled after his attorney Robert A Buhler advised him not to answer more questions. Buhler visited the prisoner today as Decker claimed there was a motive other than the devil and said he would testify at trial.
The Great Council of Indiana Improved Order of Red Men held a two session district meeting at the East Broadway Red Men hall in Daviess County. About 212 delegates attended from ten districts with Logan tribe Francisco Wah Kee tribe Evansville and Geronimo tribe Princeton performing degrees. Prizes totaling 150 were promised to the top three degree teams based on state judges T C O Connor Arch H Hobbs and E Maybee presiding as judges in the state contest. The judges will visit district meetings over the next 12 nights to record points and decide final standings.
Washington report says the Fordney Emergency Tariff bill, vetoed by ex President Wilson, will be rushed through the first major session legislation. The measure seeks farmer protection and a six month limit, expiring early if a permanent tariff passes. Senate conferees expect Harding approval within ten days after April 11.
Culver Ind March 22 The Hoosier Rifle club of Indianapolis won team titles in rifle and pistol at the Indiana Rifle Association indoor matches at Culver Military Academy The Hoosier rifle team scored 996 and pistols 409 Princeton took third in rifle while Culver Academy team two placed second and J W Hart led the Hoosier club in rifle with 200.
President Swinehart urged cooperation among merchants in advertising to boost sales. He highlighted the Neosho Plan used by Clinton merchants, showing lower advertising costs and higher Monday Sale Day profits, and noted some local rivals resisting collective effort while Clinton grocers benefited from broader reach.
A city dog was executed after spending Monday night in the cell. Police Chief James H. Guthrie and Officer May Duan King arrested a female dog at the Southern station and later ordered the death penalty, saying the plan aims to rid the city of worthless dogs, especially roaming females. The canine had been on the streets for three to four weeks.

M L Arthur filed his report and verdict in the New Liberty mine disaster where Ray Cockrum Norman Davis Wesley Bilderback and Clyde Rinehart died in an explosion on February 16 1921. The verdict finds Norman Davis died from an accidental gas explosion and that the accident could have been avoided by proper inspection or ventilation. The same verdict applies to the other three men.
County high school discussion at Princeton High Friday at 8 p.m. pits Princeton against Owensville and other county schools with Miss Alice Boren and Miss Marie Strunk among the entrants. The winner advances to district and state meets, with an orchestra and mixed chorus performing for the audience.
United Press reports a renewed push for prohibition across legislative executive and judicial branches. The Supreme Court hears a major challenge to the amendment claiming section 3 set a seven year ratification limit while drys press the president and attorney general over medicinal alcohol production.
Foster on the Auburn farm near Princeton sought Pasteur Institute treatment in Indianapolis after a Shepherd dog bit him on the hand and then bit a Foster pup and a Johnson horse that later died along with a pig. Residents worry about widespread rabies as Sam Watkins and Son Isaacs sent a stray dog for examination in Indianapolis. results not yet known. Foster has returned home and health officials deem him out of danger.
Gibson County board meets to review counts and local matters as commissioners discuss jurisdiction, budget items, and upcoming meetings. Officials present include county chair and department heads guiding deliberations on public services.

Chicago March 22 W W Atterbury vice president of the Pennsylvania Railroad challenged national government rules before the United States railroad labor board The hearing produced some concessions for Atterbury but he defended the agreement as restrictive to production He acknowledged midway employees may select representatives yet argued that minority representation should not bind the majority representative and the talks focused on benefits and representation.
