In Rand Rapids Judge Willis B. Perkins declared a man and wife seated together in a jury box count as one juror. The case involved a contested will. Mrs Peter Long had been drawn as juror and the trial paused as the panel thinned. Peter Long, her husband, was excused after the overlap was noted.
Maurice Wilkinson 18 son of Mrs Ada Wilkinson of south Hart street earned a hearing with Charles Wagner manager of John McCormick in Evansville. He sang two selections with Miss Margaret Noble at piano and Wagner praised his bari tone potential. Principal W B Cockrum arranged the meeting via Evansville high school’s musical director.
Mrs James Brunce 76 sprained right wrist after a fall down steps at neighbor's home. Attending physician set the injury with splints at Mrs Bruce's daughter Mrs Robert Perry 803 North Prince Street. The Brunces marked their Golden Wedding anniversary last April in Dale Indiana.
Three residents seek service in the army. Virgil Lee Wilhelm applies at the local recruiting office for a one year term. Frank Hi. Les ter and Francis S. Ross of Owensville apply to join the Fifth Field Artillery at Camp Taylor Evansville.
Washington reports warn of a German Bolshevik alliance with Russia threatening world peace. Sparti outbreaks are seen as early signs of a rapid spread as Moscow directs efforts to unite Soviet powers and push repudiation of the peace treaty due to German workers opposing war.

Mrs Mary Branton wife of L Branton died at 2 30 am at her Fort Branch home from complications of disease She was born June 7 1858 and was a longtime Fort Branch resident Funeral is set for Saturday at 1 30 pm at the General Baptist Church with burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery Survived by her husband six children including Thomas Adams Edward Mrs Richard Stone Ott Mrs J W Thompson and Raymond at home
The funeral of Mrs Mary C Dye was held Tuesday morning at her daughter Mrs James Kell's residence in north Hart street. Rev Crane conducted the service and the body was taken to Providence cemetery for burial with short services there. Relatives and friends attended in large numbers.
Twin pigs are born joined at the body on John Armstrongs farm near Owensville and live about four hours. Other pigs are normal and growing. Funeral services were held for Alva House 43 and Loveiette 38 with local clergymen officiating. Several Owensville residents attended a talk by John McCormick at the Coliseum. Local bankers and visitors were noted in Washington and Kansas trips.
Mrs Mary E Beiger widow of John Beiger died at 8 pm at her home on east Monroe street. She was 77 and a lifelong Princeton resident. The funeral will be Friday at 2 30 pm from the home with burial in Warnock cemetery. Survived by one son Van Berger at home and an adopted daughter in California. She joined Cumberland church early in life and was deeply esteemed by all who knew her.
Sills v Public Production Co was heard in court over labor performed at an oil well drilled on the Zimmerman lease in Washington township Knox County. Attorneys Kirk of Princeton and Padgett of Vincennes represented the case. Also noted: Mr and Mrs Pete Fisher welcomed a baby boy named Paul Thomas born Wednesday evening at their 9 Oak Street home. Mr Fisher works at the Southern shops.
Indianapolis News feature writer and poet spoke to Princeton High School Thursday afternoon at 3 00. Principal Cockrum invited him and the students enjoyed the talk. A carload of cedar posts advertised in the notice.
Landowners and farmers in the Wabash and Ohio valleys plan a Monday assembly in Mount Vernon to organize the Wabash and Ohio River Flood Control association. Five organizers from Evansville and Mount Vernon call for flood measures amid levee plans and potential ruin of lower Wabash agriculture. About 200 people from Illinois and Indiana expected to attend.
Indianapolis March 18 Charles J Orbison federal prohibition director warned that Jamada ginger must be limited to druggists and used as medicine. He argued nondrug sales imply beverage use and could implicate druggists if made repeatedly. A Mari on man, James Rowan, was jailed and fined for the first sale conviction.
Baseball fans await definite information on a Princeton 1920 team. Encouraging word from the south side says a team is being organized, but leaders will not disclose public details at this time.
Elmer Crandall aged 12 son of Mr and Mrs James Crandall on Dr Trippett farm east of the city suffered a fracture of the left leg above the knee and bruises to the head and hips after his fast came caught in a revolving wheel of a farm wagon late Wednesday afternoon. He was not freed until the wheel had revolved twice.
Word from Oakland City states Fred Benton brother of W C Benton band director here has organized a twenty two piece band. Oakland City once had a band and now shows strong local talent as Benton rebuilds with many promising beginners.
Jcense 10 wed Virgil Beasley and Nellie Clea Odell both of Francisco Leesk Colennar and Opal Skinner both of Pike County appear in a local notice listing residents and affiliations.
Harvard College Observatory announces a new star in the Sagittarius constellation. The nova was detected by Miss Woods on 1905 photographic plates and does not appear on recent plates, indicating it has vanished.
Chief Guthrie enforces speed limits to keep pedestrians safe. Earl Hollis and Carl Ford were fined $1 plus costs after pleading guilty in the mayor's court for speeding. The police warn that speeding endangers children and elderly pedestrians alike.
Mabel Harvey twenty two and Nora Jones eighteen face trial Friday in the city police court on loitering. They were arrested Monday night by Patrolman D J Haley and pleaded guilty when arraigned yesterday. Charles Harvey is serving a prison sentence.
Ruskin Swan is chosen to represent Princeton High School at the county debate to be held in Ft Branch on March 26. County debaters will be eliminated down to one to represent the county in the district debate, and eliminations in the district will decide the state representative.
Heveltine Collector EE Miller has made the city his headquarters again and finished gathering income tax returns. He now reviews monthly sales tax reports from city and county merchants. The levy applies to many apparel items, soft drinks, drugs, movie admissions and luxuries above set figures.
