Lightning struck a large barn on Zack Welton’s farm near Hosmer seven miles north of Oakland City Indiana during a brief storm. The blaze consumed thirty five sheep four horses one cow wagon harness and farming tools and feed totaling about three thousand dollars in loss. The lightning was described as extremely vivid.
A double wedding ceremony conducted this afternoon by Judge W. S. Wilhite united Clyde Jones with Ada Lynn and Leonard Lynn with Nellie Blackates, all residents of Fort Branch, Indiana, as reported by Mt. Carmel Register.
