Union ballots show 151 Princeton local members favor a strike if operators do not accept a new wage scale. Nationwide, 500000 miners plan to walk out April 1 with government mediation sought. operators pledge silence amid market stabilization concerns.
Senator Harry S. New refus es to quarrel with Albert J. Beveridge over a funding compact for the senate race. He says he has no private fortune or newspaper backing and will run a lawful campaign within proprieties. Beveridge spoke at Ft Wayne endorsing a stark campaign keynote.
Sunday school begins 9 45 a m followed by preaching at 11 00 a m on Baptism by Fire. Prayer meeting at 7 00 p m announces church activities and schedule.
A heated clash occurred in the courthouse when Walter K. E. Cox superintendent of the Francisco mining company and attorney Hovey Kirk fought in the second story corridor after a hearing before Judge Roberts. The dispute ended in a draw with Sheriff Flowers separating them.

Two steeple jacks from Evansville worked on a scaffold around the Tenneberger ice plant stack in Princeton on Thursday. They repaired a weak section starting two feet from the ground up to ninety feet high, replacing guy wires and placing a cap as winds gusted above the building.

Plans for a city wide gymnasium to be funded by Princeton churches are moving forward. The building would host basketball and other tournaments with a large balcony to seat about 2500. If funded, the project could allow local district tournaments and attract events from Southern Indiana.
