United Press bulletin from London datelined March 7 reports Dr. Von Simons in contact with Berlin as Premier Lloyd-George arrives at St James Palace to cheers and the chant Make Them Pay resounds from the crowd.
London reports Marshal Foch ordered allied forces to advance into German territory the next day with an official announcement. A possible one day delay before the troops begin their advance was noted.
Final London conference reports the German reparation terms as unacceptable and not justifying delaying penalties. Allies demand occupation, tax measures, and Rhine customs. Germany protests to the League of Nations and contemplates provisional payments over three to five years while offering limited counter proposals.
London dispatch reports Allied forces ready to march into the Ruhr if Germans do not retreat. Objective includes Dassendorf Duisberg and the Ruhr Valley as French circles note possible occupation. Paris notes French War Council in session to plan any advance into Germany if required.
Charles McGowan and Earl Newberry were arrested Sunday night for intoxication and accused of insulting female operators at the Independent Telephone office. They pleaded guilty Monday before Mayor C A Shubart and were fined 31 dollars plus costs. The mayor offered leniency if they apologized to the operators and reimbursed prosecution costs. Also, Broadway Christian church’s Loyal Women’s class will meet 2:30 Tuesday at 233 East Water Street with Mrs. Ralph Crumbaugh hosting and others assisting. large attendance requested.
In Indianapolis on March 7 the legislature detailed appropriations beyond tax levies. Regular 5,793,820 Specific 2,739,288.21 Deficiency 973,917.50. Other items include Kankakee River Drainage 1,000 Indiana G A R 35 Assembly expenses 109,000 Monument to General Lawton 5,500 Huana Hartor commission 25,000 Evansville Bridge commission 1,000. Total specified appropriations reach 9,641,425.71.
PopLaxs George, Mike and F Marena, claiming kinship as cousins, secured city peddlers licenses from City Clerk Charles E McCormick on Monday morning. A rise in arriving peddlers is noted, many claiming Armenian heritage and speaking limited English. Wares include linens and dolls.
Senate Democrats in caucus re elected all officers for the new administration. Senator Underwood of Alabama was re chosen chairman and party leader with Hitchcock of Nebraska as vice chair. Kink of Utah became secretary and Gerry of Rhode Island whip. Three new Democrats Whitson Broussard and Caraway attended. Senate representation stands at thirty seven to forty six, signaling smaller committees.
Paris reports that peace terms between France and Turkish nationalists will be signed in Paris with Ismael Bey and Bekir Samy Bey set to affix signatures. Hostilities have ceased. The accord allows Cilicia evacuation by France and promises minority protections and near autonomy to reduce Kurdish tensions.
C. C. Furnas Purdue University champion long distance runner and 1920 Olympic team member will run in the trials at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on April 29. He is regarded as the premier western conference long distance runner and was invited to enter the eastern meet.
Miss Anna Christopher daughter of Mr and Mrs James Christopher Rushville Indiana and Mr Floyd Dyer of Sanborn Indiana were married by Rev Roy N Cloyd at the Broadway Christian church parlors on Saturday afternoon. Miss Christopher's brother and his wife accompanied them.
Mrs. Sue Goodman aged OL died Sunday morning at Methodist hospital after double pneumonia. Funeral was at 3 PM today at North Embree home led by Rev. L A Harriman. Remains go to Crossville Illinois for Tuesday funeral with family accompanying. Survives sister Mrs. Roy Cleveland and father John Marlette. widow of Fidoti Goodman and longtime resident of the city.
The regular monthly session of the board of county commissioners began Monday with little business aside from approving usual bills and claims. Road matters are on the agenda for Tuesday.

Charles A. Goad aged 59 died Saturday at 7:50 PM in Methodist hospital from pneumonia. He lived in this city and previously ran the Public Drug Store on South Seminary Street before selling to W. F. Craig. Survived by a son Robert of Indianapolis, two daughters, and one sister. Funeral Tuesday at 2 PM at Pem.
