TERRE HAUTE March 5 The jury in the William F Huffman election conspiracy case returned a guilty verdict after less than thirty minutes of deliberation. Special Judge Blankenbaker discharged Huffman who faces a sentence of three to ten years in the penitentiary pending a motion for a new trial.

President Wilson urged Congress to repeal the Panama Canal act free tolls for coastwise vessels. He delivered a sixteenth personal address, framing repeal as vital to relations with Mexico and to Britain's stance on U.S. policy. The joint session heard his 417 word message as snow fell outside.
In Vincennes on Tuesday the upper half of a newborn was found in a box behind Homer Latshaw's general store in Oaktown. Cats drew Latshaw's daughter to the scene and discovery followed. The body was severed at midline and the lower portion missing. A grand jury will investigate. no suspects named yet.

Fairfax Harrison president of the Southern railroad will pass through Princeton on a first inspection trip. He travels with Louisville and St Louis division officials and leaves St Louis at 9 Saturday morning. Conductor Munier and flagman Walter Ursery will supervise the train. Harrison recently became Southern president after leading Monon lines. Florence Bates returns home from King's Station after visiting Miss Ruth Partenteimer and Miss Dell Pittman. Engineer Dan Shine and wife depart for Springfield Ky for illness in their daughter Alice at St Catherine's Academy.

Sydney E. Alvis, 21, of Princeton, passed a successful examination for admission to the United States Navy at Evansville recruiting station. Leslie A. Davis, 22, of Princeton, failed the first exam due to heart action and will return Monday for a second examination. Alvis says Evansville report was crossed.
