The collection features seven new coats and suits in covert cloth serges and gaberdines in light shades such as tar putty sand battleship grey navy and independence blue. Styles include waisted short coats and full skirted coats with wide circular and pleated skirts for a feminine silhouette.
Prices for suits range from 12.50 to 39.59 coats from 10.09 to 25.00. The store assures fair handling and lower prices than elsewhere. Despite new items, most shoppers will be drawn to those marked at less than standard prices and are invited to inspect early.
Indianapolis dispatch reports that Pennsylvania has agreed with the C. & E. I. for the partial sale and bonds with bondholders. The deal aims to finalize the transfer before closing the transaction.

The Patoka Township library board unanimously adopted a resolution to convert the library from a city to a township institution. This change would grant all township residents equal access and boost funds for maintenance and new books, aiding township students and expanding patronage. Mine No 3 of the New River and Pocahontas Consolidated Coal Co suffered a major explosion at 8 25 a m entombing dozens of workers. Rescuers cannot reach the debris as the entrance is badly blocked. Early estimates ranged from fifty five to one hundred eighty missing or dead with hours likely before rescue efforts begin. The cause was not known.
