Obituary of William McClure of Princeton
William McClure died Sunday at 2:30 am at his home on South Main Street after a heart illness. The funeral is set for Wednesday at 2:00 pm at the Baptist church with Rev. Horace Kipkague and Rev. A Cohn officiating. burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery. Born March 29, 1848, he was 66 years old and lived in the county his entire life. He married Martha E. Latham in 1879 and had nine children. A former contractor and later assessor, he served in the Union Army with Company A, 17 Indiana Regiment, and was active in the G A R and Masonic lodge. Survived by his wife, two daughters, seven sons, two sisters, and three brothers. numerous relatives reside in nearby towns.

Celebrate Birthday of Washington at First Methodist Church
A Washington's Birthday service at the First Methodist church was observed by the Mother Jewels with about fifty children present. Geraldine Meyers and William King depicted Martha and George Washington and sat in seats of honor. After the service, iced hatchet shaped cookies were served. Four new members were added to the roll. Virginia Knaub won a marshmallow prize for raising the most money for missionary work.
