The Princeton Advertising Club visited John R. Ford's farm in Washington township with about twenty auto loads of business and professional people. Rain limited the lawn program but guests enjoyed a social supper hosted by the Washington Township Thursday club and French's orchestra supplied music.

J Riley McCullough a 2 Democrat and country school teacher was elected superintendent of Clay County schools by the board of education on the 159th ballot yesterday in Brazil Indiana.

Franklin Powell aged 16 son of James Powell proprietor of a restaurant underwent a mastoid operation at Methodist hospital Wednesday morning. Hogs and Cattle Prices Across Markets Reported

Receipts for hogs and cattle vary with steady to lower bids across markets. Hogs trade around 8.25 to 8.75 for bulk, with butchers and packs and lighter types showing dips. Cattle receipts rise with steers near 6.50 to 9.10 and cows 4.25 to 6.65. sheep run 14,000 head with lambs at 9.25 to 12.50 and ewes at 1.00 to 5.25.

Merchants were urged to improve early offers and delivery, with instances of stockouts. dealers should pay top market prices while keeping prices reasonable to sustain the trade center.

Fight near Ft Branch leads to arrest after gun threat

Seven Ft PeacEH men and others gathered north of Ft Branch when a scuffle turned violent. Howard Strickland allegedly left, returned with a gun but fired at Curtis English. the shots missed. Strickland was arrested with a razor seen in his pocket. six others pleaded guilty to intoxication, Ott Williams also to assault and battery.

Community club meets for insect talk at Hull home

Chautauqua Program Opens With Lectures and Concerts

The Redpath Chautauqua begins a seven day engagement at Lowell school grounds with Oceanic Concert Co. and Montaville Flowers delivering lectures on America Looking Abeaa and Personal Experiences with the Bolsheviks in Russia. Admission 50 cents with tax. children 2 and 3 cents tax. Afternoon shows start at 3 p.m. and night performances at 8 p.m. The story hour for children starts Friday morning.

Jury Awards Miss Johnston $3500 in Hamilton Case

In Evansville superior court the jury returned a verdict for Susan Johnston against Mollie and Curtis Hamilton for 3500 dollars after a lengthy dispute tied to the Kimball estate. Sanford and Trippett represented the plaintiff. Baltzell and Baltzell defended. The case arose from alleged transfers of property and a dispute over the Kimball home.

In Charge Against Dealers Denies Price Guiding

Stanley Wyckoff former Indiana fair price commissioner and defendant in the ice trust suit says he did not instruct dealers on ice prices. His role as secretary of the Ice Dealers Association was to direct shipments to cover shortages. Ice sold in Indianapolis and Princeton at 60 cents per hundred. The Henneberger Ice Company of Indianapolis is a member of the association per Frank A. Henneberger.

Indiana moves to break up ice trust in Indianapolis

Attorney General Lesh filed suit in Marion county against fifteen firms and individuals in the Indianapolis ice trade. The action seeks dissolution of a price fixing or trust arrangement with Stanley Wyckoff named as secretary of the Indiana Ice Dealers Association. Ice had been selling at 50 cents per hundred pounds, while a housewives league urged 35 cents.
