American forces in Juarez remain in possession after a night of continued firing by Villista bandits. General Erwin ordered an advance. two Americans reported slightly wounded. May draw today according to the report.
American forces under Gen. Erwin say Juarez is in full American possession after a night advance led by armored cars and the 24th infantry. Casualties are reportedly light for the U S, with 36 Villistas believed killed and gunfire reported around Juarez.
The Globe Mining Company's stripper mine near Winslow Pike County uses convict labor amid wartime profits. Governor Goodrich held as officer director and stockholder, with $50 000 of $100 000 preferred stock retired. The Indianapolis Times notes wartime investigations and prompts calls to probe Indiana governance.

Captain John Alcock and Lieut. A W Brown completed a 1930 mile Atlantic crossing from Newfoundland to Ireland in 16 hours and 12 minutes. They planned to fly to London but their Vickers bi plane landed in a bog near Galway and was damaged beyond repair. Alcock and Brown proceed by train and boat to London amid crowds at Clifton.
Paris June 16 The peace treaty to be handed to Germany at Versailles at 4 o'clock this afternoon has been altered since May 7. Changes include a civilian Rhine administration and a moderated tone to spare Germany needless punishment. The Saar valley settlement is revised and Germany's league entry framed for October.
President Wilson plans a direct appeal to the people on returning to the United States to secure action on the league covenant. An itinerary of stops is being prepared in Paris with possible homeward departure around June 21 and a July 1 arrival, followed by congressional address and public tours.
The County Board will hear complaints on real estate assessments for Washington and White River Townships including Hazleton and Patoka on Wednesday June 18.
