General Pershing lands in Boulogne amid cheering crowds and joint salutes, welcomed by French officials and allied officers as the first wave of the American army reaches France. He vows American participation and cooperation with France and Britain.
Athens reports Constantine I resigns under pressure from France Russia and Britain. Crown Prince George is excluded as successor. Alexander Zaimis confirms emigration plans for Constantine and George. Alexander 24 will assume responsibilities aligned with Entente goals as M. Jonnart negotiates Greece's wartime unity and security of Entente forces.
London reports a German air raid killing ten children at a east end school and wounding fifty others. The attack drew anti aircraft fire and defense planes into action as British airmen responded, with broader fears of the most deadly raid yet seen.
Fred J. Lewis, Princeton businessman and proprietor of the Howdy pool room, was named superintendent of the Sexton garment factory to replace the resigned Supt. Schram. Lewis began duties this morning and is praised as highly qualified in garment sewing and fitting. A 45 member force is at work with more hires daily and machines planned for the second floor when work demand rises.
Professor G I Christie of Purdue University toured Posey and Gibson counties as floodwaters recede. He estimates about 200 000 acres will need replanting but good crops can be secured by using ninety day corn and late potatoes. A Mt Vernon meeting with local officials and landowners showed landlords willing to supply seed and necessities to tenants for rapid replanting once waters fall.
Gibson County launches rapid organization for Red Cross War Fund with Dr E G Hildner leading efforts across towns including Fort Branch Owensville Haubstadt and Princeton. A county dinner and extensive volunteer drive push to oversubscribe the goal as women clubs join and Tr Kappa girls manage the central office.
Vincennes Indiana June 13 Jwits Hopkins and Frank Bates both colored were arrested and jailed by Sheriff Wolfe and Prosecutor Kimmell charged with failure to register for army service on June 5. Hopkins says Princeton was his home and that he was raised in Kentucky by a white man and did not know his age. Bates is from Terre Haute and both men worked for a road construction company. Local officers do not know the man Hopkins referred to and it is probable he has been in Princeton.

Washington D C June 13 a drastic food conservation bill was approved by senate committees to prohibit the use of non perishable foods in Aquora manufacture and to authorize the president to regulate perishable foods and spirits as needed for government requirements.
Mrs. Douglas Ballard and her children from south Gibson street travel Wednesday to Pine Bluff Arkansas to visit her brother Charles Songer and family for an extended stay.
