The Krenshaw place is tied to the Riley gang per confessions of two suspects. Authorities expect Claude Piersol to confess his role in the abduction.
Gibson county Red Cross directors launch a June membership campaign to raise funds and organize auxiliaries in every town. M. J. Welborn heads the finance committee with a campaign to start June 18. Elks plan Flag Day exercises at the lodge home with Indiana Secretary of State Edward Jackson as speaker and public invited.
In Petrograd four regiments of the 7th Russian army refuse orders and officers are arrested in two cases. War Minister Kerensky orders arrests and court martial for those responsible. Austrian General Rohr presents a peace proposal via delegates from divisions, with 120 men including an Austrian prince bearing white flags. Russian commander bans discussion and pivots to Austrians at the line. Detained Austrians held papers outlining peace orders for each regiment. Officials suspect Austrian government backing.
Land From Vincennes The Champs journey to Bicknell Sunday by rail and auto possibly by water if flooded. They travel via Vincennes on the C. and E. I. line and then drive to Bicknell. The Bicknell squad features many new faces and several professionals. Princeton keeps the same lineup as last Sunday.
In honor of Miss Linda Smith and Miss Georgia Battles of Princeton, Miss Det. Robinson entertained with a slumber party on Wednesday night. Present were Edith Behrman Sarah Stork Maybelle Schmutzler Daisy Heim Georgia Battles and Linda Smith. A three course luncheon was served at midnight. The guests said they had a most enjoyable time though it was a sleepless night.
