Drowning at White River near Cunningham Ferry
The body of Harry H McClure, 22, a Southern railway fireman, was recovered shortly before 3 p.m. from White river at Cunningham ferry. McClure and companion Gordon Culley attempted a swim across the river when McClure drowned after being aided by Culley. Ferryman George Capehart tried to rescue them as efforts to locate the body continued.

Woman Sustains Broken Forearm in Wagon Fall

Architect Clifford Shepbell of Evansville draws plans for a new Franklin school on the south side. The 72 by 122 foot brick and stone building will house twelve classrooms offices rest rooms toilets and an auditorium with well equipped manual training and domestic science rooms. An addition to the high school measures 60 by 140 feet creating a one story auditorium and gymnasium seating 1200 with a picture booth shower and lockers. The old building will receive six recitation rooms and new plumbing to meet state law.
