Oakland City Indiana July 29 Olive Rhodes 19 Otwell won the pocket plowing match riding a Sampson tractor scoring 89.2 percent, outpointing Claude Thompson Oakland City who scored 88.5 percent in the men’s tractor event. Melville Gears also won the walking plow with 91.5 percent and a $20 prize, while Ray Goldman 16 Oak City took the boys’ walking plow at 90.3 percent and a $20 prize. Herman Hays 13 won second in the main event with 865 percent and $15. A one armed ex soldier Walter L Bland demonstrated a Moline tractor. The day featured six contests plus demonstrations on A B Stall farm near Oakland City.
