The Liberty Haskett Coal company of Louisville is expanding near Francisco Warrick county by purchasing land east of Francisco and building ten five room houses and a ten room boarding house for miners. A store may follow. They leased land for coal rights at 40 dollars an acre and renewed activity on the Francisco holdings. Royal Coal plans a new shaft west of Francisco on the Cramer farm with a railroad spur from the Southern railway.

The remains of Paw Kurtz who died Saturday July 17 at his Newport Arkansas home arrived in the city Sunday.
