Henry W. Beard a Southern railroad machinist living at McKaw Summit had a close call at a railroad street crossing in the city Monday around 5 30 PM. He drove a purchased sliver onto the crossing and to avoid a pile of box cars he steered into the curb demolishing a front wheel but escaped injury.
