Strikers Attack Westinghouse Plant in Pittsburg
In Pittsburg on July 8 strikers resisted entry to a Westinghouse plant after reports of employment bureaus in eastern cities. Police and state constabulary stopped a demonstration in which foreman Wm. C. Sprang and worker Matt Burger were badly beaten. Stanley Sialek, a Westinghouse employee, was hospitalized with 43 stitches after being stripped and beaten. Two arrests were reported with three total arrests in the incident.
