In Terre Haute Indiana a separate blaze followed fireworks injuring 14-year-old Margaret Tavis due to a clothing fire from sparks.

Vincennes Marks Anniversaries With Historic Bell
In Vincennes Indiana yesterday residents rang the silver bell from St Francis Xavier Church tower to mark the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The bell first announced the Declaration in 1776 when the flag was raised over Fort Sackville. The Rev James Gregiore ordered the bell to be rung again with Father Pierre Gibault directing. The bell also rang during the 1918 armistice celebration in Vincennes and was funded by contributions from the people of France.

Leonard Knocks Out White in Ninth at Benton Harbor

Brother Kills Brother In Farm House Accident
English Indiana July 6 A 19 year old named Connor Webster was shot and killed on Addison Webster’s farm four miles southeast of English by his younger brother about 14 years old who was handling a revolver in the bedroom. The shot struck the sleeping man in the back and he died instantly. Zenor Webster had been in Iowa working on a farm before returning for their grandfather’s funeral. Visitors from Lexington Kentucky, James Moore and son Billy and Mr and Mrs Hart, spent the day with Mr and Mrs Stewart on East Broadway.

Mrs Christine Hayes 66 was found dead Monday morning in her north Hart Street home by the ice man. Doctors say apoplexy caused her death. she had a prior stroke.
