On January 19 at 2 o clock, the undesirable aliens led by Alexander Berkman and Emma Goldman were deported from the United States and entered Soviet Russia to a welcoming reception.
Senator Atlee Pomerene of Ohio will become an active candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination within ten days. A Canton meeting of 40 state politicians signaled his candidacy with Arthur P. Black reporting the news to supporters. Campaign HQs to open in Columbus soon.
Drillers report finding the Princeton coal vein at shallow depth with a one foot seam near the Erwin farm south of Princeton. At 835 feet a six foot vein tested as excellent quality, while oil sands were struck at 160 feet and drilling continues toward 1600 feet to evaluate potential in the Patoka field.

In Chicago, gunmen tied up yardmaster Charles Gray and crew of a Pennsylvania Railroad freight train last Friday. They cut telephone lines and loaded 75 barrels of whisky valued at about $100,000 into four trucks before escaping. the crew and yardmaster were found hours later when the new shift arrived.
