The Daily Express reports another postponement of the peace ratification ceremony. The latest date is now Thursday, with Tuesday as the earliest possible reschedule. the delay is not attributed to Germany.
United Press reports the selection of a Democrat candidate to head the ticket is Wilsons next challenge as he pushes league of nations as the key issue for 1920. Palmer is favored at the White House but a decision awaits campaign plans and Bryan may clash at the San Francisco convention.
Paris January 20 the supreme council fixed January 16 at 10 am for the inaugural League of Nations meeting. Leon Bourgeois of France and Al Cruzon of Great Britain will be present to deliver addresses.
At a special Evansville meeting of the Indian presbytery of the Presbyterian church the Rev. W Sydman of Omaha Nebraska was appointed to the pastorate at the Ft Branch Presbyterian church.
Extra guards roamed the White House as Vic Berger returned for a second appearance in two months. Only six members voted to retain the socialist in Congress.
Victor L. Berger of Milwaukee, a Socialist convicted under the espionage act, was again excluded from membership in Congress. The vote stood 328 to 6 with one member voting present.
Victor L. Berger announced after a House conference with Speaker Gillett that he expected to be seated today. He stood with bowed head during prayer as extra guards watched the galleries. Debate began on the exclusion resolution with Rep. Dallinger asserting disloyalty, not socialism, as the reason.

Judge Clements of the Posey circuit court sat in the city Thursday to hear C Ryman against Henneberger Ice and Storage Co for damages claimed from an automobile ride in 1915 with Frank Henneberger. The case, previously heard by Judge Vandeveer with a hung jury, concluded evidence Thursday but no decision was reached.

Roger Williams, 19, was seriously hurt when his light truck was struck by an E. & S. I. traction car at Mitchell crossing south of the city. He was hurled forty feet into a field and transported to Methodist hospital with likely skull fracture and profuse bleeding. Conductor Charles Lasiter and Motorman Roy Manahan operated the interurban car bound for the station at 11:15. Williams, delivering groceries for his father’s shop, had prior involvement in automobile accidents including a collision with a locomotive on Main Street.
Washington observers report growing mail among senators as they await public reaction to the Wilson Bryan treaty dispute. Democrats split between backing Wilson and following Bryan, with many preferring not to rush into the campaign while supporting ratification. Bryan hints at a new party if Democrats fail their duty.

Mgr Fred Antell reported on the State Farmers Association meeting in Indianapolis. A body of armed men attacked the Castle Hackett police barracks last night in Dublin. Police dispersed the mob without violence and no injuries were reported.

Walter Jenkins of Oakland City shopping in the city. Owen Henry and family visit Mt Carmel relatives. Grace Daly of Oakland City also in town for Sunday.
Paris dispatches report that France seeks a dominant political and diplomatic role in Europe with the United States and Britain quietly conceding to let France lead in most capitals. The plan aims to secure France the right of way in continental diplomacy.
Indianapolis Jan 10 Gov Goodrich agreed to call an extraordinary session next Thursday to ratify the woman suffrage amendment. Legislators are expected to pledge by Monday to restrict the session to this sole business.
Princeton high school basketball beat Winslow 36 to 6 in Friday night action. Mt Olympus outscored Patoka 21 to 12 in the preliminary game refereed by Secretary Horn of the Evansville Y M C A.
The January 10 meeting noted the town board organized with Henry Davis as chainman Russel Showers and Arthur Dill as clerk treasurer present. Alex Sides was appointed trustee for the third ward after a qualified failure. John Woods became town marshal and street commissioner Dr Silas Morris health officer Sanford Trippet town attorney. All new officials are Democrats.
Miss Margaret J. Gilmore daughter of Mr and Mrs S F Gilmore formerly of this city sang French songs at a reception in Indianapolis for Madame Clemenceau Jacquemaire at the Alliance Franchise She performed the French march La Madelon de la Victorie.
