The resignation of H. E. Taylor as superintendent of the Princeton Water and Lighting Company has been accepted and will take effect immediately. The new successor will assume duties at once and is described as a man with substantial practical experience.
The company announces Mr Joplin will replace Mr Taylor after a thorough search. Joplin brings years of practical plumbing experience and previously supervised the Franklin plant installation. The management expects full satisfaction for the company and its consumers, while friends of Mr Taylor regret his severance from the firm.
President of Commonwealth Steel Company declares the firm has rejected a $2,000,080 order for war materials, including shrapnel, citing reasons related to policy and market conditions. The decision comes as wartime production debates unfold in New York.

A notice mentions a drawing and a weapon incident involving a man named Homer Manpel, colored, with a $5 fine and costs to be paid, and adds that Mrs Addie Jackson Manuel was arranging for the fine to stay.
