Paris reports France still lacks new information on the airship Dixmudes fate. Only commander body recovered. no confirmation of additional crew found. The minister of marine notes the mystery remains, while citizens reread a 1920 article by the commander about the dirigins purpose.
The Fenwick Newell Concert Company will present a high grade recital at the High School Gymnasium Monday evening. The program features Mr. Newell tenor Miss Holt soprano Mr. Marks violinist and Miss Crawford pianist with a mix of classical arias, duets and violin pieces to open the season’s musical events.
bonus advocates opened conferences in Washington to push a five way compensation bill. The first aim is to secure administration leaders support for a guaranteed bonus right of way. House passage is believed likely and caucus sentiment favors prioritizing the bonus over other measures. Advocates claim about 80 percent of House members support the measure and expect it to survive any veto.
In Delaware Ohio on December 29 seventy five girl inmates were under guard and ten were missing after a night of rioting at the state girls industrial school. Disorders began when cottage residents protested punishments for minor offenses, spreading to all cottages as about 120 girls roamed yards throwing stones and challenging staff.
Evansville Indiana December 29 Mayor Charles Niemeier accused Enforcement Director Bert Morgan of neglecting duty and failing to act on a Knox county still seen by Morgan’s agents. Niemeier says agents refused to arrest the still and Princeton officials report illicit liquor still operating daily. Morgan says he has 24 operatives to cover the state and promised investigation.
Invitations have been issued for the Daughters of Isabella to dedicate their new community home in Princeton. The opening at 120 South Seventh Street will be on New Year’s Day from 3 to 9 p m with many local members expected to attend.

Princeton Telephone Co reports the city's new fire alarm system nearly complete with boxes installed around the town. Each box contains a telephone usable for police calls as well as fire, and only two boxes remain to be placed today.

Indiana National Guardsmen will receive over $54,000 in back pay after Attorney General Lesh ruled the vouchers valid despite late arrival beyond the legal deadline. The state treasurer had delayed payment.
Reports to the Bureau of the Census show Indiana's total government costs for the year ending Sept. 30, 1922, at $24,159,674 or $8.10 per person. Total receipts were $25,558,250, yielding a per capita excess of $0.48. Property taxes comprised 52.8 percent of revenue, with licenses and other items contributing the rest. The state’s net indebtedness stood at $0.14 per capita, and assessed property value taxed reached $5.23 billion.

A coast to coast cold wave will bring freezing temperatures, with rain or snow expected Sunday in many areas and snow in the Great Lakes and Rocky Mountain regions. Temperatures will fall for several days, reaching far south to Florida by Tuesday night.
