Sugar limits: two to five pounds weekly for city customers. five to ten pounds for country customers based on family size. Flour limits and bread price nine cents per sixteen ounce loaf are specified.
Terre Haute Dec 28 1917. Collector Strouse announces 18 officers start Jan 1 to cover counties, with one inspector arriving in Gibson County Jan 2 remaining through Feb 2. Princeton office in Court House to assist returns for 1917 income and deductions, urging unmarried over 1000 and married over 2000 to file. The field officer will bring forms to households. callers need not request forms.
Washington December 28. Director General McAdoo outlines sweeping cuts to railroad payrolls and executive salaries, with million-dollar scales trimmed.
