Dr. Francis M. Payne, formerly of Princeton and now in Louisville Kentucky, suffered a painful injury when a car crank slipped and struck his right arm, breaking both bones. He has many friends hoping for a speedy recovery.
The regular term adjourned Saturday afternoon and there will be no circuit court this week It resumes work Monday The January term will convene next Monday and the next adjournment is not expected until summer Several important cases will come up for trial in the January term
The farmers and merchants conference will meet in Princeton Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon with a large attendance expected. Secretary Wallenmeyer of the Tri-State Farmers Institute and Louta Taylor of Newburg are listed on the program. The Vanderburg County Farmers Short Course adjourned to Wednesday to join the conference at the First M. E. Church, replacing the high school building. County Agent Roy W Marshall and assistants coordinated arrangements including a reception committee for arriving trains. The event, considered one of Indiana’s most important gatherings, aims for full participation and success.
A bond of ten thousand dollars was fixed this afternoon and signed by the Indianapolis Surety Co. Mrs. Roberts, active in Indianapolis since Saturday afternoon, helped secure the bond.
