The Gibson County Commissioners, the state board of health and the Rockefeller Foundation along with Princeton and the county tuberculosis association enact a 1922 health program. A full time health commissioner, sanitary inspector, and public health nurse join with funded offices, education, and disease control for a countywide plan starting January 1.

Car Crash Damages Two Vehicles On Hart Street
John Wendricks proprietor of the Southern restaurant in Hart street tried to turn from the left side into Broadway when his car struck a curbside vehicle in front of Ensley drug store owned by N W Bryan. The Bryan car was knocked back several feet and badly damaged. Wendricks car suffered considerable damage as well.

County Orphans Given Bourteous Christmas Treat
For the twenty second year Princeton miners local visited Patoka Gibson county orphans home Sunday morning with gifts and treats. Committee members Frank Bolin Charles Hornsby William Quirk and others distributed dolls tops knives and wagon sets to 31 children and the matron Mrs Olive Marvel led a brief program. The operation began at 9 am after loading gifts at Hornsby’s home and concluded with the children singing America and wishing a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

An injunction filed by Prosecuting Attorney Hugh Barr shuttered an immoral house in Vincennes after a suit alleging illicit operations in a respectable residence district. Clinton man crashes car in ditch near Sullivan
Joe Shovly of Clinton drove a high powered car into a ditch at Sullivan and helped himself out then placed six sacks of empty jugs by the roadside. He told officers he had been in Bicknell seeking work. Police found 250 dollars in his pockets and he was jailed.

Indiana adds core drilling unit to check road material
The Indiana State Highway Commission has purchased a core drilling machine to sample pavement after construction. Director Lawrence Lyons says four and a half inch cores will verify material quality and quantity, protecting funds and ensuring contractors meet specs. The machine is testing roads in Lake County and will be available to counties under statute.

Deer Killing Plea Fines Set in Crawfordsville Justice Court
Harley B. Paddock and Roy Coltrain of Montgomery County pleaded guilty in Crawfordsville justice court to unlawfully slaying a deer. Each paid fines and costs totaling 63 dollars as reported by George N. Mannfeld, chief of the state fish and game division. An affidavit against another Montgomery County resident was filed, with more actions expected. The deer, believed to have escaped from a park, was hunted all day with foxhounds before being shot.

Chicago Liquor Ring Exposed as Prohibition Bribery Probe
Federal agents report the exposure of a major Chicago liquor ring after three men were arrested and twenty one barrels of whisky seized. The ring allegedly sought bribes to flood the city with whisky during holidays. Arrestees are Dr I Val Freedman Samuel D Freedman and David Blumfield all of Chicago.
