Germans planned the raid with German shells hurling at the Americans on November 3. Two companies arrived to reinforce a salie position as shock troops crossed no man's land under heavy fire. Hand to hand combat followed with American defenders outnumbered two to one, leaving three Americans dead in brutal casualties.
Ten thousand Iron Trades Council workers in San Francisco will strike today for the 10 percent wage increase awarded by the Emergency Fleet Corporation. The stoppage, affecting both shipbuilding and other war work, is labeledEnemy action by EFC official Charles Pier. Tron Trades Council president R W Burton disputes the claim.
The war office reports a strong German attack in the western Asiago plateau sector broke through Italian lines briefly. Italian artillery halted the advance and pushed enemy troops back to their rear positions. counter attack ongoing with satisfactory progress.

The marriage of Miss Ressa Morrison of Ot Hazieton and George Lane of this city occurred in Evansville on Saturday afternoon. Mrs Lane is sister of Mrs Robert Bammer on South Race Street and formerly worked at Princeton Laundry. The groom is an electrician at Princeton Mining Company.
Mr and Mrs Van Adams of south Main street announce the marriage of their eldest son Corporal Robert H Adams to Miss Irma Hann of Cincinnati Ohio. The wedding occurred days ago at Camp Sheridan Montgomery Alabama surprised relatives here. Corporal Adams serves in Co 5 118th Supply Train 27th regiment at Camp Sheridan. He is a well known Princeton youth and his friends extend best wishes.
Miss Aileene Miley daughter of Mr and Mrs W H Miley of north Harrison Street and Leonding D Young son of Mr and Mrs Milton Young tied the knot at 8 oclock Monday evening in the parsonage of the First Methodist Church on West Emerson Street. Rev W M Whitaut officiated. The bride is a popular local young woman and the groom a blacksmith at the Dickson shop. They will reside in the city.
