Mrs Margaret A McGinnis widow of Richard McGinnis died at her Evansville residence 109 Linden avenue yesterday surrounded by family. She had been an invalid for years and was mother of Judge Orville W McGinnis. She moved to Evansville to be near her son after his death.
Officials announced a brief halt for Seupher shop employees to finish year end tasks and spend Christmas at home. Clerical staff hurried to process December pay, receiving rewards with the pay checks. Only essential departments remained in operation Friday afternoon.
M O Stinchfield of Vanderburg County bought 200 acres of Patelka river bottom land from A N Sturgis for 44 000 dollars or 220 dollars an acre. The tract seven miles northeast of town on the Wheeling road is praised as a premier corn farm with modern improvements. Sturgis, formerly of the city, now resides in Oakland City. The deal marks a record land sale in Gibson County as Stinchfield plans to rent the property and continue large scale corn farming with cribs holding eight to ten thousand bushels this year.
Plans for a statewide Indiana basketball tournament for amateur teams. Entries close January 26, with 150 round terms and a 20 year age limit. Wayne Emmenninp presides, sectional rounds in February, finals in Indianapolis. More than twenty teams already entered. Write Warner Poonemann for details.
The Princeton egg market has fallen 15 cents a dozen over the last two days in line with a broader boycott trend. In Chicago a 12 cent drop follows housewives taking action, while New York City shows a 2 percent per dozen decline.

Final arrangements for the Elks lodge event to entertain Princeton children tomorrow afternoon are underway. White children gather at 40 Gelock, Black children at 2 39, with county home inmates from Patoka invited. Mothers urged to entrust their kids to Elks care. children will be tired but happy on return.
