Mrs Lillie Bucklin Shannon wife of Charles A Shannon died Thursday night at 10 30 in St Louis at the Deaconess hospital The body will reach this city Saturday morning at 8 57 over the Southern and go to her parents home 720 East State street Survived by husband four daughters four brothers and two sisters born August 20 1867 and married March 1 1893 Funeral plans not yet announced
Edward McDermott arrives from Indianapolis to spend the holidays with his aunt Mrs Gus Mason. Earl McDowell also returns from Indianapolis to join his parents Mr and Mrs Dan McDowell for the festive season.
Mrs. Lois Ping visits East Water street with G W Guthrie family while R Q O McLin returns from Louisville. El specks include Mrs J A McCann and Maude visiting Albion Illinois. Clarence Tooley and Goldie go to Ava Missouri. Miss Elsie Lang from Poseyville on business. Miss PF A Pond from Evansville. Russel Pitman from Huntingburg. Mrs Francis Byrne returns from Winslow. Mrs Charles Remerhausen near Ft Branch visits. Ira Hobson and Garah Hobson host family in Oakland City. Helen Carithers from Indiana University spends holidays with Joseph Carithers. Miss Agnes Sturgis returns from Petersburg to North Hart Street.

The Peoples American and Farmers National banks announce open houses Saturday during regular hours to celebrate Christmas. Souvenirs for visitors and a Christmas treat for children from 3 to 4 pm at the Farmers bank. Both banks decorated with a fully lighted Christmas tree in the Farmers corridors.
Pryor Norton aged fifteen attempted to mimic a human fly at the Virtcannes furniture plant reaching the third story before leaping to the ground. He fractured both legs and injured his back and is feared to have sustained internal injuries. Norton had reportedly seen a person performing a human fly on a nearby building.
Debs, Socialist leader, convicted under the espionage act, is freed by President Harding. He heads a list of 24 political prisoners granted Christmas clemency, with amnesty for those jailed for wartime disloyal statements. Five soldiers were pardoned. others await decisions as released prisoners return home for Christmas.
Isaac W DePriest of the city has been authorized to receive an $18 monthly pension increase through the Dr Burton agency.

Carl Church was found guilty of the brutal murders of motor car salesmen Carl Ausmus and B. J. Daugherty. Judge Caverly sentenced him to hang. Church lured the two men to his time and killed them with a club to obtain an automobile. Defense argued insanity.
In Evansville Indiana on December 28 Davidson Anderson and Charles Henry were rescued from drowning after an automobile carrying them plunged into the river. An unknown man offered to drive the two men who leaped into the water and were saved by police.
Mrs. S. E. B. Stockel, divorced wife of the confessed dental burglar, departs for Chicago with her daughter Muriel and Muriel s fiancé E. Eilert after expressing anger at newspaper publicity. She criticizes Princeton press while Stockel s condition is reported as improving and the crisis believed past.
In New Brunswick New Jersey after Gilbert Bein age five was slain in a cellar tub in a New York tailor shop and Tessie Kuscharski five was found murdered in a Hotel Albany closet police pursue a single suspect. A man said to have entered the hotel with the girl claimed kin to her, but his details differ from the first suspect.
In Antigo Wisconsin December 23 reinforcements of prohibition agents rush to the area after a gun duel left Julius Wurser dead. Two men jailed are accused of liquor trafficking and a still is reported found by officers.
