Major Sidney B Miller reports from the 50th Field Artillery about the Rainbow Division during retreat operations. He notes bridges and railroads blown, roads destroyed, and the division reequipped with clothing for emergencies. Secretary Lansing today denied American delegates planned to advocate sinking the surrendered German ships. He said the proposition has never been discussed. A Christmas party is set for 7:30 tonight in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church for the Sunday school children.
The Elks invite all Princeton children to a Christmas treat and free film at the court house and Noble theater on Christmas Day. White children assemble at 1 30 p m, then walk to the theater for two reels of Fatty Arbuckle and a Japanese fairy story. Colored children gather at 2 30 p m for the same program.

Earl Rafferty son of Mrs. Margaret Rafferty of 701 South Race Street arrived home Saturday from Camp Taylor after transfer at New York. He will spend the holidays with his mother and is the first Princeton soldier to return from overseas service wounded at Chateau Thierry and now rapidly recovering.
Dispatches report bloody fighting in Essen between soldiers and the Workmen's Council and Spartacus. Casualties occurred as the Spartacus appear to have been defeated.
