Bulgarian troops tore down the American flag at Monastir and seized Red Cross stores. Mrs. Walter Farwell of Chicago and Dr. Forbes were taken into custody after rough handling. Forbes had stored 24 carloads of flour for distribution to civilians and refused to sell to Bulgarian troops. An officer mocked the rag as fit only to scare Mexicans.
Chicago dispatch notes Mrs Walter Farwell wife of Walter Farwell a Panhandle Texas land investor and Tribune correspondent at Monastir. She was previously Mildred Williams of Washington DC daughter of General and Mrs Williams whose mother first husband was Stephen Douglass.
In Fort Branch circuit court on Monday morning the divorce case of Tom Dilbeck versus Sarah Dilbeck was heard and taken under advisement. Also, Isaac Bent of Fort Branch faced assault and battery charges. Bent pleaded guilty and was fined ten thousand dollars plus costs.
The Silks lodge invites every Princeton child to a Christmas afternoon treat and free moving picture show at the Elks home and Star theatre. White children meet at 1 30 there and go to the theatre at 2 30. colored children assemble at 2 45 for the same program. A special committee will supervise and wrap youngsters for warmth. Last year 750 children were served and more are expected.
News of Dr Robert S Anderson's sudden illness with appendicitis Saturday evening and a Sunday night operation shocked friends. Doctors report his condition is critical to the extreme with little or no hope of recovery. at dusk he remained conscious but gravely ill.
