Mrs Arthur Verkiser died Tuesday night at 10 30 in the Seibert home after a lingering tuberculosis. Funeral was at Shiloh Church near Hazleton conducted by Rev Robert Bell with burial in the local cemetery. Survived by husband employed in oil fields near Union and three children John Francis Beatrice, plus three brothers William Sam Lowe and Adolph and her mother Mrs Nancy Lowe.

Telegram reports the death of Joseph D. French a descendant of an old city family. The body is expected to arrive Friday morning with a short Elks home service at 10 oclock. Burial will be in Warnock cemetery with the wife daughter and son in law and brother William French accompanying.

Newark N J December 18 A juror from Englewood Clifton A Ellis fainted during federal court proceedings. He was carried to the judge's private chamber and revived after liquor seized as evidence in a recent raid was involved.
At Harry New murder trial in Los Angeles women jurors and spectators continue needle tapping and amused the court. The judge allows it noting not contempt. Two empaneled jurors remain, testimony to begin tomorrow. Prosecutor Richardson reports nationwide letters offering advice including a spirit message urging not to hang Harry New.

Charles A Garwood and Ruth Mae Brown were married at Lev Horace Sprague's home Tuesday afternoon with Morman Wheeler, a bride’s nephew, as escort. After the ceremony the couple and guests enjoyed a luncheon at Will Criswell’s home in Stormont Avenue. Both are popular Patoka University women and will reside on the groom’s farm east of Patoka.
