Former Princeton mine official jailed for assault demand

Frank Bochenan, former superintendent at the Princeton mine, was fined 100 dollars and costs and sentenced to six months in the state penitentiary by Judge Vinadeveer for assault and battery with intent to kill. The case stemmed from a prior assault with a pick handle on Dowdle, who was struck on the head. the assailant fled then surrendered later.

Colored Soldier Wins High Honor in France

Second Lieutenant Aaron B. Fisher colored son of Ben and Mrs. Fisher of Lyles Station has six years in the regular army and serves in the 366th infantry overseas. He earned the Croix de guerre like notice for extraordinary heroism at Lesseux France on Sept 3 1918 directing troops under heavy fire while severely wounded, holding position until a counterattack drove off the enemy.

Autos Collide at State and Hart Street Saturday

Two cars collided at State and Hart streets Saturday afternoon causing extensive damage but no injuries. Drivers Ray Gassaway of Princeton Transfer and D. S. Broadwell of 222 West State Street were involved. indications suggested both tried to beat the other to the corner.

Mrs. Joseph Partenheimer of 617 North Prince Street suffered three broken ribs and serious bruises when the Gas Company auto truck struck the buggy she rode in on Race Street Thursday evening. She is resting well and shows improvement.
