Carl Zengler stationed at Camp Greenleaf Georgia is in town on a short furlough visiting his sister Mrs Elvis Hill and his parents Mr and Mrs John D Zengler east of the city and other relatives He will depart for Evansville today to visit friends before returning to camp.
The Women of the W. R. C. will elect officers at the regular meeting Thursday afternoon at 2 30. All members are requested to be present.
Gibson County Chapter of the American Red Cross coordinates with local committee led by Mrs. EB Funk and Mrs. Walter Riggs to send Christmas boxes to around 1,000 wounded soldiers and nurses at West Baden hospital. For about 1.50 per box, donations of $1 from each contributor will be used, with boxes labeled by the local Red Cross and shipped in time for Christmas. Send $1 and name to Geo H Padgett's office to participate.
