The curtains and cushion from the Taylor buggy hit by a car Saturday night on West Broadway were found at a resident’s home by a kind person who feared theft and later returned to Taylor. The automobile driver involved in the incident has been located.
Denver reports temperature at zero as a warmer trend begins across the midwest. White River Ontario records 44 below zero, the day’s lowest weather bureau reading. Montana shows 28 below as bitter conditions persist.
In Boston on December 16 Governors from New England states meet Gov. Coolidge to discuss coal supply. With power reduced and many businesses on a six hour day coal conservation rules are partly in effect.
In Tulsa on December 10 a fire gutted the interior of a three story building as cold weather hampered firemen. Loss was estimated at 125000 dollars.
Notices report the death of Jasper N. Wheeler a former Gibson County Indiana resident who died December 6 at Keensburg IL. He served in the Civil War and twice married Mary Stallings and later Lauime White. Also noted is the death of Susie Ellis age 17 at Princeton hospital after appendicitis with services held at the M E Church in Oakland City and burial in Montgomery cemetery. she leaves parents and four brothers.
Word was received of the death Monday morning of Mrs. A P Whitfield age 26 at her home in Phoenix Arizona She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Heiserman of this city She married Alfred Whitfield and had two children Martha and Charles The family will bring the remains to Mount Vernon for funeral at the Baptist church with burial in Rose Hill cemetery Survivors include the husband two children her parents and two brothers Fred and Heiserman of this city
Indianapolis dispatch reports the miners and officials accepted President Wilson's plan on December 10, ending the coal strike. Work is set to resume promptly with assured wage increases and improved conditions.

Branch toward the Dixie Bee, connecting with existing highways and benefiting Owensville and Ft. Branch. If denied, the plan would instead route improvements from Mt. Vernon via Cynthiana to the Dixie Bee, bypassing Owensville.

Lockhart off auto for Elk's wood chopping. No 64 run under Engineer Shanley and Wireman Cochran. Masons and Carpenters finished re roofing the round house.
Lewis Meyer, employed in the office of County Surveyor Harry C Morrison, plans to move from Boonville to assist in the levee survey. He is not new to the area, having previously worked for Morrison, and his wife will join him here in a few days.
