Washington reports a four power agreement among the United States Great Britain Japan and France has been definitely agreed upon. The plan is believed to replace the Anglo Japanese alliance and gain acceptance in Tokyo and London.
Washington reports the four power agreement among the United States Great Britain Japan and France nearing finalization. The plan would end the Anglo Japanese treaty and limit fortifications near Japan such as Guam with China excluded while focusing on Pacific defense.
Boonville Indiana December 7 Chief of Police John R Vincent was found guilty of compounding a misdemeanor by a jury in circuit court. He received a 100 dollar fine plus costs and a ten day jail sentence. He had released Ira Roth who faced a license offense and later received a remittance offer and a ten fifty dollar check tied to the fine. Vincent says he attempted to hand over the money to the Justice of the Peace but could not locate the official.
Hazleton reports ferry service back in operation during the day after recent rain slowed river flow. Weather and water levels show only slow falls, with slight rise noted on the White river at Hazleton though river still near standstill. Night service remains unavailable.
James Holland and sons spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs John Burns. Miss Flo Wopkins and Ruth Tooley visited James McDivitt family as revival at Providence church closed with Elder J W Crane re elected pastor. Arthur McDivitt ill with pneumonia. Baby boy born to Mr and Mrs Tionzo Hurst formerly Jessie Ledbetter. Chas Vanmeter takes Rural Route 2 out of Francisco. Revival at Clark's chapel began December 4.
Melville Ritchie son of William Ritchie and brother of Wesley Ritchie Moore Milling secretary, was held up and robbed of 350 dollars Friday night in Milwaukee. He was in a restaurant when bandits entered and robbed all present. funds have been sent to him to return home.
Four hundred state troops guarded Chicago's stockyards as thousands of striking workers picketed. Militia also deployed to South St. Paul as packing plants planned strike breakers. Violent incidents reported include a man shot and a daughter attacked. Meat prices rose with pork up 14 to 25 cents per pound since Saturday.
Officers probe the Patoka bank robbery linked to Lee Carl. He may plead guilty and offer no defense citing desperation from being broke. Carl disputes the total money seized, claiming $7.50 was his. Hd Godwin of Hazleton visited on business.
Paris fashion forecast says spring skirts will be ankle length with long tight sleeves replaced by loose gowns and low waistlines. Molyneux predicts bold color clashes including teal greys yellows violet and green for a vivid season.

The Princeton Light, Heat and Power Co. is charged by the Indiana Public Service Commission with failing to meet heating system requirements. A formal hearing is ordered, date to be announced, after an investigation indicated noncompliance including missing daily temperature readings and maintained temperature levels.
Under President Harding the old guard moves to smash the agricultural bloc. A White House conference with Senators Watson and Curtis and Secretary Weeks signals a push to enforce party discipline. Harding's message urges abolition of special groups and unity for the next campaign. Congress remains divided over tariff policy.

Mrs Simcox and daughter returned home Monday. There will be preaching service at the church Sabbath with the subject Man.
Rep Claude A. Smith denies morning dispatches claiming Governor McCray asked him to withdraw from the race for speaker. He says no word has come from the governor since a prior note promising no contest, and Smith remains confident he will be elected speaker and stay in the fight.
A call goes out for used bedding and cot items to outfit the Salvation Army charity room in the new building set to be dedicated December 17 or a week before Christmas. Needed are two cot mattresses one cot two blankets six sheets four pillow cases two cot bed spreads. Donors should contact Miss William Williams at the local Salvation Army.
Thursday December 8 marks Parents' evening in city schools with regular classes 7 to 8 and a social hour 8 to 9. Early dismissal Thursday afternoon accommodates working parents to visit and meet teachers.
