The annual Gibson county corn show will take place in Princeton on Wednesday and Thursday December 19 and 20. Entries rise yearly with three exhibitor classes professional amateur and boys and girls under 18. Exhibits must be in place by noon December 19 in the courthouse corridors.
The First Baptist Church hosts a Wednesday evening service preacher Reverend Waskins delivers a sermon on One Thing Thou Lack est from Mark ten twenty two. A Thursday afternoon talk How to Get Prayers Answered is planned along with The Midnight Call parable of the ten virgins and nightly prayer meetings. A 4 15 pm youth gathering features Mr Fleming singing and an evangelist sermon. last week 900 young people attended.
Seven unemployed were killed and many wounded as thousands demonstrated in front of the city hall in Germany. The report notes police involvement and ongoing unrest during the protest.
Indianap olis Ind Dec 6 Senator James J Nedil president pro tem of the senate said a special session should be called to impeach Gov McCray. He argued the legislature could convene to sit as a court of inquiry without the governor's consent and that the house speaker would trigger the session. Walb vowed to push the ouster plan despite McCray allies' resigning calls.

A freight truck running between Princeton and Vincennes with stops at Hazleton and Patoka began its first trip Wednesday. Operated by Charles Miller of Vincennes, the service will run twice weekly, with potential daily runs once the bridge opens next week, expanding freight connections between the two cities.
Anton Lang and Guido Mayr travel from Bremen to assist an Oberammergau group exhibit of wood carvings and native embroidery in New York at Grand Central Palace. The event funds the village after wartime losses and supports the Oberammergau players while they remain vow-bound to perform only in Oberammergau.
At a Princeton Kiwanis meeting at the Pullman hotel a resolution urged each political party to nominate a Princeton resident for county commissioner. The city, taxed heavily, has usually seen commissioners from outside Princeton. W L S Wood was once elected from Princeton but died, ending his term. The resolution will go to party chairmen.
Fire crews responded to Olive Branch Baptist Church on Last Broadway Wednesday around 5 30 pm. A furnace fire filled the building with smoke after the furnace door was left open. no damage or fire was recorded.
Police investigated an apparently abandoned old Chalmers on Latham Hill north of Princeton. The car bore an ID showing owner Earl Shute of Evansville. Shute admitted the breakdown and will retrieve the vehicle when he can.
Fair tonight with rising temperatures Friday. The record high and low are 445 and S75 TCH SE ls 9. Last year’s same date saw highs of 40. Today’s temperature is 32 with sunset at 4 50 and sunrise tomorrow at 6 52.
Police headquarters logged several auto crashes. Lester Kolb of Patoka collided southbound on the Dixie Bee with James Gray, near the Latham farm. L. N. Davis and Norman Grimur collided on Third and Monroe streets with minor damage. Glenn Fisher and a northbound car on Main and Broadway caused two damaged vehicles. Edna Mc Roberts near Hazleton had a Ford sedan struck by a van at State and Main. minor damage and a broken radius rod were noted.

The abandoned car found Monday two miles east of Patoka near the Charles Thompson farm was identified Wednesday afternoon as the property of William Woolsey of Winslow. Woolsey, believed missing after the car’s discovery, was located in Hazleton by his brother, who then traced him to Casleton where he was employed. The vehicle had a rubber coat and clothing inside, leading to initial fears of an accident. it later emerged Woolsey had engine trouble or ran out of gas and had not returned to retrieve the car.

Indianapolis native Scott is noted for social service work in France and the United States. State superintendent J B Bursis lauds her message as valuable and engaging. public invited.
A pile of junked box cars burned in the Southern shop yards Wednesday evening after dark. The glow in the sky misled observers into fearing a major fire.

Becknell Ind December officers announce arrests of nine men linked to a gang that terrorized Spencer two months earlier and robbed two banks of seventeen thousand six hundred dollars. Merle Louches, former Knox County assistant prosecutor, is named as ringleader. Authorities say Louches recruited a sixteen man group and trained them for the raid, with guns and ammunition traced to the Spencer robbery.
Citizens invited to a full day Farm Bureau meeting Saturday at Princeton High School gymnasium. The program targets business and professional men with a morning session of familiarization, a 1:30 p.m. adjournment, and an afternoon program with speakers from the State Association of Farm Bureaus. Gibson County Farm Bureau members extend a welcome to all attendees.
Smith Mounts aged 82 died Wednesday at his daughter Mrs. Marion Witherspoon’s home south of Owensville. Death due to infirmities of old age. Funeral services set for Friday at 2 pm at the Witherspoon home two miles south. Burial in Odd Fellows cemetery. Mrs. Witherspoon is the sole surviving child.
