An expert cook and the Domestic Science Class will demonstrate corn based dishes on Saturday December 8. A $33 cash price list accompanies the exhibits noting all items returned to exhibitors. The notice urges early Christmas shopping to aid war service and lists various gift items such as handkerchiefs gloves purses ribbons silk hosiery fur pieces scarves caps coats dresses goods and accessories.
Notice by J. R. Mitchell states hunting is absolutely prohibited on his farm from D5 through D8. No trespassing or hunting will be allowed on the premises during this period. Local authorities are notified and compliance is requested.
The notice urges Gibson county residents to buy thrift stamps and war saving certificates through all post office routes to aid small savers. Stamps can be purchased in 25 cent installments with transfer options, and even transfer into war stamps upon collecting sixteen thrift stamps. Everyone is encouraged to start a savings account with the United States via the post office and save a little each time. W. S. Whitten, a Princeton mine employee from North Hart Street, was hurt at work this morning when slate fell. He was taken to the Methodist Hospital with a broken nose and other injuries believed serious.
Local committees organize to raise 1200 dollars toward a 4 million dollar Y M C A campaign supporting 2 million women in industry. Princeton groups, chaired by Mrs Baltzell, plan ward and township captains with a Thursday luncheon at First Presbyterian. Leaders urge immediate action from parents and working women as wartime needs grow.
Mrs William Meeker is very ill at her home north of the city due to a complication of diseases. Her condition has prompted concern among family and neighbors as doctors provide care.
