Crawford Noble, son of E. B. Noble and nephew of E. E. Noble, will sing at the Elks memorial service Sunday afternoon. He has been in Chicago studying music and arrives tonight to visit his uncle's family.
Evangelists Rose and Lewis will address the Brotherhood class of the First M E Church Sunday morning. A full membership of the class is desired. There will be a special musical program and business of importance to the class will come up at the meeting.
Herriot Carithers Co display a nine pound four year old beet grown by Ralpa Carithers living northeast of the city. The giant weighs nine pounds and measures 220 inches in circumference. Residents are invited to guess the weight.
At New York the ford peace voyage began as Henry Ford and his delegates left the ship Oscar for The Hague voyage to call a peace tribunal. W J Bryan visited aboard and was warmly welcomed. Crowds numbered in the thousands on shore and at the pier as the liner sailed.
London reports delayed Rome dispatches indicate Italy plans to send troops to Salonika and Albania, signaling broader cooperation with the Allies. Sonnino’s impending parliamentary statement and censor holdups cloud the timing as Greece may admit Serbian refugees to join Anglo French forces.

Dr Carl Buenz managing director of the Hamburg American Line was sentenced to one year and six months in Atlanta federal prison. Adolph Hochmeister and other Hamburg American officials received the same sentence. Joseph Poppinghouse the fourth official was also sentenced to one year. The Hamburg American line was fined one dollar.
In Danville Indiana, 36 year old Pritchett attempted to drown his wife by forcing her toward an abandoned well after pouring acid on himself. They struggled, furniture was damaged, and she escaped as he was badly burned. She fled after he released her.
Washington reports no change in the status of Captains Von Papen and Boy-Ed as Berlin and Washington negotiate their recall. German embassy says they will not bargain for safe conduct and Germany is pressed to recall them. Captain Boy-Ed consulted with Ambassador Bernstorff. action taken was by President Wilson.
Pope Benedict criticizes great powers for failing to unite Christendom, calling the Hague treaty a dead letter. He signals plans to address the coming consistory of cardinals and insists on a stronger united will to end conflict, urging repentance for actions that spurred war.
