The Gib son County Defense council plans wide publicity for those who fail to contribute to the United War Work Campaign by December 10. It reports 86 000 dollars short of quota and notes a $200 gift from Ohio Oil Co. through W W Rogers as an example of corporate support.
The First M. E. church foreign Missionary society meeting is postponed to December 17. Mrs. Gilbert Smith and her son Herbert, along with Mrs. Anna Sloan, spent Sunday in Vincennes.
The Harlan family expresses heartfelt thanks to friends and neighbors for aid and sympathy shown after their loss. They note floral offerings and acts will not be forgotten by Mrs. John Harlan and sons.
Miss Marjorie Burns, gravely ill with influenza, was brought back to her Evansville residence Sunday afternoon for care and rest as local health officials monitor her condition.
Local schools adopted a new plan this year to donate Thanksgiving collections to the Red Cross. Franklin school raised 18.55 dollars, Lowell 10.00, Irving grades 8.00, with Lowell also contributing substantial food donations to M. L. Hospital.
The Sted Cross thanks the children of Frank'in school for offerings and the Irving school children for donations. Lower grade contributions total 5.50 and 2.00 from the Evansville band.
