Ercel Hollis son of Mr and Mrs Otto Hollis sustained a fracture of the right arm at the wrist Thursday morning while cranking an automobile at the home of John Demaree near Owensville.
G. G. Frohbieter from Haubstadt was in the city as a business visitor on Saturday.
Mrs. Nora Walker urges Gibson County women to sign Hoover food cards and pledge full support to war conservation. The appeal calls for home work registration, eating critical foods, and saving others for soldiers abroad, stressing “Food Will Win the War” and duty for civilization.
The local conscription board received 2700 copies of the questionnaire and other materials. December 15 is set for mailing, with seven days to return, Sundays and holidays excluded. Registrants must visit the legal advisory board for accurate completion and duplicate questionnaires are restricted.
