The Rev E E Pedicord resigns from Broadway Christian church and will move to Glouster Ohio with his wife to care for her grandfather's widow. The board accepted the resignation with regret after a Monday night meeting. A farewell sermon is planned for Sunday.
Mrs A E Hudleson entertained the Waiting Room committee of the court house at her south Hart street home. The group enjoyed a fine noon dinner and planned improvements for the court house waiting room which serves city and country visitors. War work for the Red Cross was also discussed. Attendees included Mrs Theo Bucklin Mrs Henry Greer Mrs Mary Woodburn and Mrs John Gamble.
New York witnessed a vast parade as nearly 30 000 soldiers from the 27th division marched up Fifth Avenue in a five hour event watched by over two million. The crowd cheered as civilian defenders headed home for the last time until the war's end reflecting a nation in high morale.
Indiana highway commissioners led by L H Wright travel from Mitchell to Vincennes for a Dixie Bee Line inspection linking Cincinnati to Vincennes with federal aid. Local counties push routing via Mitchell Washington Vincennes while Knox and Daviess counties form a booster group.
