Virgil Akers a 26 year old ex convict from Chester Tl penitentiary was arrested near Princeton by Sheriff D J Flowers Deputy Compton and specials after a two week spree smuggling bogus checks totaling over 400 across Princeton Washington Ft Branch and other towns. He used varied aliases and financed purchases with bad checks including cars and bank deposits while evading capture. He was captured after colliding with a patrol car near an orphan’s home and is jailed with a woman accomplice traveling with him.
