Gary Indiana August 27 police held three suspects in the murder of Rev Edmund Kayser Lutheran pastor and German nationalist leader. Authorities doubt whether pro allied partisans or Kayser's own countrymen killed him over church reforms or business disputes. A Chicago paper accuses Kayser of passing munition shipment details to German agencies via congregants at Gary plants.
Seven top free vaudeville acts have been booked by the association for the annual fair. The lineup includes the Famous Six Finnotto Troupe, the Delomore Trio, the Great Samayoa aerial act, Bailey comedy acrobats, the Three Manollos clowns, and the Rinaldo Bros on revolving ladders.
