Man is shot by neighbor suspect in water trough incident
W. E. Cox superintendent at Ayrshire District Colleries fled his home after warning from a night watchman. He shot Frank Debord, 35, at a well about 100 feet from Cox home with a .44 rifle, wounding him between the shoulders. Debord, brought to a local hospital, filed assault and battery with intent to kill charges. Cox posted 4000 bond and pleaded not guilty at arraignment.
