Chicago August 13— Wheat fell after news that contracts for 2,000,000 bushels for September shipments were cancelled by the allies amid heavy losses to buyers. December futures opened down, then trimmed losses. overall sentiment softened as traders ponder potential broader cancellations and market impact.
George W. Lott, Progressive candidate for state auditor, filed suit in Knox circuit court to challenge the direct primary law passed by the 1915 legislature. The case seeks review by the Indiana Supreme Court, with the matter set to advance through the higher courts.
