Recruits Needed as Princeton Office Closes for War Effort
The Princeton recruiting office for Company M closes with four men short of full war strength. Since March 29 Lieu tenant Fisher has recruited ninety eight men and rejected thirty two for disqualification. Arthur Spillman and William Javilson are named officers, creating a two man vacancy. Sales run August 11 to 18 under the banner Buy It in Princeton as twenty two local merchants join a cooperative effort to draw Gibson county residents to Princeton.

Bailey Wife Saves Nickels For Stove Purchase
Lawrence Bailey of Lynn township promised his wife all nickels he earned for the past six weeks. In New Harmony he bought a Florence coal oil stove with the stash, totaling 26 dollars.
