Indianapolis reports Governor McCray issued a proclamation calling all Indiana citizens to pause for one minute at six o’clock this evening in silent tribute to President Harding. The hour coincides with the funeral train’s progress across northern Indiana and broadcasts from Ft Harrison and other radio points.
Battery D departs Sunday morning via Evansville with the battalion crowd at C. and E. J. Station to bid farewell. Relatives and friends gather to see the troops off and expect their return on Sunday evening, August 19.

Battery D of Princeton’s 139th Field Artillery entrained at 7:29 Sunday for Camp Knox Kentucky where they will camp in tents on polo ground until Aug 19 returning that evening. Captain Ben H. Watt commands. Multiple batteries unit with Evansville and Mt Vernon detachment. R W Hart guardianship of armory during absence.
President Calvin Coolidge began forming an unofficial cabinet after conferring with leading Republican friends. The move aims to aid him in formulating new policies as he recognizes the need for decisive action.
Evansville shopmen tied the score in the ninth with two tallies and added two more in the fourteenth to beat Patoka 4 to 2. Bogle pitched airtight ball for Evansville against Kolb of Patoka in a fourteen inning pitchers duel. Lebmeier opened the ninth with a single and Carter drove him home with a three bagger. Carter scored again in the fourteenth on Hahn and Stedman singles, Hahn scoring on a wild pitch.
The Princeton Tigers did not play the Ft. Branch Twigs on Sunday as wet grounds forced the game to be called off.
About 750 fans saw Haubstadt lose 11 to 4 at home. Stofleth of the Ratters starred with sharp pitching and key runs, while Roy and Smith started for Haubstadt and Stofleth paired with Sarver for Keen Kutchers. A chicken dinner followed the contest.

The aging boxer James J. Jeffries, 48, plans a fall lecture tour with Prof. A. F. Fintterer on unification of the white race. He says clenched fists and his ring gestures prove effective for delivering points, noting his past earnings like the 1910 Reno bout that netted $117,066.
A special train carrying Dr. Carl Sawyer and Dr. George Harding Jr left Chicago to meet the eastern bound funeral train. They will rendezvous with Mrs. Harding at Sterling and consult on funeral arrangements at Marion, as the brother of the late president.
In a Buffalo crossing tragedy eight people were killed and two fatally injured when a train struck an automobile carrying a Niagara Falls picnic party. Mrs Camillo Capriotto, five children, Angelo Bartello aged 35, and a baby were among the dead. The husband of the woman and another man were fatally hurt.
Two people drowned and a third later died from injuries after an automobile left the road early Sunday and overturned into a 12 foot deep brook in Teaneck New Jersey. The driver survived without injury. Deceased are Mr and Mrs N B Johnston of Teaneck and Mrs Peter Hrickson of Bogota.

Governor Mc Cray will attend President Harding funeral rites in Marion Indiana joining the party at Columbus Ohio on Secretary Hughes invitation. George Lindy president of the State Republican Editorial Association named a committee of the association to attend the Marion funeral.
Three men died when a car driven by Anton Hoffer of East Chicago was struck by an eastbound New York Central train at the death crossing in New Carlisle. In the crash James F. Maher of Brooklyn and Edward Oppel of Brooklyn were killed, another passenger Charles Lekone was seriously injured but expected to recover.
The funeral train bearing President Harding's casket moved toward Washington with crowds along the Iowa route paying tribute. A near wreck in Chappell Neb slowed the slow procession, but crews sped on to make up lost time toward Chicago and beyond.
Princeton Boy Scouts of Troop One returned from a week on the Big Blue River in Crawford county with marked advances in Scout tests. The trip featured exploration of Wyandotte cave and the monumental underground mountain 165 feet high. Participants included Paul I. Ellis and 21 others. a camp swim meet showcased strong swimmers and divers with multiple event wins by Max Smith and Joe Kurtz.
Mayor Niemeier and a committee announce a memorial service at United Presbyterian church Friday to honor President Harding. Niemeier will preside with music by Will Blair and the Hoosier quartet. Three brief addresses are planned by Judge Baltzell John T Ballard and Rev C A Wade.
A rose strewn funeral path from Dr. Hardings home to a nearby cemetery two miles away was planned with the route draped in black and white. The body will lie in state at the county courthouse and officials expect a vast crowd. President Coolidge will attend along with other dignitaries as National Guard patrols guard the Marion cemetery.
Washington August 6 Stocks of bituminous coal on July 1 totaled 45,000,000 net tons per a survey by Federal Fuel Distributor Wadleigh and other agencies. Anthracite above ground and in storage was hard to estimate but likely larger than usual for households while retailers yards remained low. Wadleigh notes continued high production for both coal types since July 1, keeping stocks increased.
The International Typographical Union sent a condolence to Mrs. Harding noting printers nationwide mourn the loss of their president and brother. The message recalls Harding’s pride in his craftsmanship and his modest, lovable character. It adds his life will inspire future generations and offers God’s grace during this grief. Harding was an honorary TYU member.
