Princeton School Board Awards Franklin Building Contract
The Princeton school board awarded the Franklin school construction contract to William N. Toelle at 50 648 45 down from 56 757 after finding a 22 000 gap between estimate and final cost. Low bid from N S Shred of Bedford was rejected for irregularity. heating and plumbing bid by W R Smith of Albion was reduced to 16 300 by leaving two rooms unfinished. Construction will start on the west Franklin lot with the old trade school condemned and salvaged for use. Parts of the fall term will use Memorial Methodist church and Lowell school, with completion expected in February. The board plans to cover gaps with a 15 000 special fund draw and economies on the south side project, avoiding delays and major curtailment.
