Predictions from merchants at the Chicago Business Builders Conference forecast cotton at 75 cents a pound and cotton goods 50 percent higher. The outlook links the price of cotton to woolens and silks, as $40 000 worth of Fall and Winter stock bought when prices were low arrives to meet July clearance sales.
Evansville plans a centennial exposition October 14 to 4 with ten thousand dollars in prizes. Southern farmers receive boosted funds and manufacturers nationwide will participate.
