Clements inquires needs of Comox-Atlin riding on tour

HW S Clements M P for Comox-Atlin arrived in the city Wednesday evening and left Thursday for Bella Coola to assess local needs. He travels with William Manson to better serve constituents in Ottawa and plans visits to Alberni and Comox before the House meets next month. Accompanied by Sproule of Vancouver, the party is backed by the Conservative Club of the city hosting a smoker for Mr. Clements next week.

Police appoint Colin Campbell as provincial force superintendent

Superintendent of Police Colin Campbell has been named to succeed F. S. Hussey, who died recently. Campbell, with the provincial force for many years, begins his duties in Victoria and is said to have an excellent record.

CPR Expands Winter Train Service Across Pacific Coast

The Canadian Pacific Railway will maintain summer-like service through winter due to rising passenger traffic and add two local trains between Winnipeg and Calgary. The Imperial Limited will run with minimal winter delay, linking Vancouver with Victoria and Seattle. Westbound No 2 departs Vancouver at 7 30 p m after steamship arrivals, while the Vancouver to Winnipeg and Toronto Express routes keep their schedules with little change. Prince Rupert is expected to have its busiest winter season yet.

Death of Mrs. Catherine Stover Shocks Prince Rupert

Mrs Catherine Stover dies at 26 after brain illness in Prince Rupert hospital. Wife of BE L Stover, she arrived from Hazelton with two young children and three other relatives. Funeral services were held at the Roman Catholic Church with Hayner Bros arranging. burial to follow in New Westminster.

A pretty wedding took place in the Port Simpson Methodist Church on Thursday evening October 5 at 6 30 PM. Mr Frank West and Miss Eva Campbell both of Bella Bella were married by Rev G H Raley.
